Job Description

An exciting chance for a Data Analyst to join a Data Team at one of the largest global insurers. This team is in charge of delivering strategic solutions under the Data Driven Organisation programme of work, including core data platforms in the form of the Datawarehouse and an associated reporting and analytical solution. Responsibilities Help the data team reach its goals as outlined in its strategic plan. Working closely with the development teams, you will use your analysis skills and experience to break down complicated requirements so that developers can understand them and come up with the right solution. Learn about the data team's processes and functions so you can play a good role as a keeper of our values and ways of doing things. You will act as a guide for people who want to work with our team. Help the data team with its day-to-day tasks by responding to ad hoc requests and giving advice to people who ask for our help. Help keep track of the documentation for the team's systems and processes. Make sure solutions are tested from the beginning of their development to the time they are released. Help analyse the effects of changes on systems by pointing out the options, effects, and possible links between other changes and systems, so that decisions can be made with more information. Keep working relationships with customers of the department and IT colleagues that are strong and close. We are honest and do what's right at all times. We are open and practical. Follow all company rules and procedures at all times. Work with business stakeholders and end users of the system to help gather and understand needs. Taking responsibility for tasks and seeing them through to the end Knowledge and Experience 12 Demonstrated ability to communicate in both business and technical terms. Knowledge, experience, and understanding of ETL processes, including the ability to analyse existing ETL. Use of Jira as a tool to track and manage work items and Confluence as a knowledge base£we document as we deliver and learn. £ Familiarity with SSIS as an ETL tool. Good knowledge of MS Excel to help with gathering requirements and showing how ideas work. £ Knowledge of SQL, SQL tools, and basic database concepts £ Having knowledge of the London insurance market £ Good knowledge of how reporting database systems are put together, especially the Kimball modelling methods. Good knowledge of what data warehouse systems are, how they work, and what business needs they are meant to meet. General knowledge of IT ideas, strategies, and methods, such as architectural and security ideas, the systems development lifecycle, information management, and portfolio management (production systems, release planning, change management). £ Experience of working in SAFe Agile development environments. 12 Good knowledge of how businesses work, what their goals are, and what their strategies are. 12 A deep understanding of IT standards and rules 12 Knowledge of data governance principles is a plus. 12 Knowledge of how to use native AWS technology (Lambda, step functions, Glue, Athena, etc.) is a plus. 12 Knowledge of any of the following systems is a plus: Rulebook, Genius, IRIS, or Salesforce Having insurance experience would be helpful.
