Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a growing and leading group based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire to recruit for a dynamic and hands-on Finance Analyst. Offering remote/office hybrid working, this is a varied permanent role within a small accounting team reporting directly into the Head Of Finance. You will take ownership of accounting duties and have regular interactions with colleagues around the organisation with the opportunity to really add value as they grow further. The role will involve analysing financial data, highlighting risk/opportunities and commercial analysis to enable pro-active business decisions. Your new role Key duties will involve assisting the Head of Finance in the preparation of detailed monthly and quarterly management accounts, bookkeeping to trial balance, assisting with the preparation of quarterly/monthly VAT returns and cash book processing. You will analyse third party data to build models and deconstruct complex financial management accounts packs to evaluate opportunities and highlight risk, along with using data analysis using excel, power BI and the ability to programme automated data sets. You will assist and support processing/reconciling accounts payable and receivables, monthly/daily bank reconciliations, process accruals/prepayments along with payments of creditors. You will assist and liaise with external auditors, support the Finance Assistant when there is a high demand with workload and be involved in ad-hoc projects/duties for the Head Of Finance and Senior Management. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Analyst role you will have experience within a similar position, ability to communicate effectively and accurately at all levels with non-technical and technical colleagues, customers, and suppliers alike. You will have a fantastic analytical skills and commercial focus to all aspects of the role along with strong MS excel skills. You will be organised and hands-on with experience of MS office packages and financial systems. Experience with Access Dimensions, management account preparation, Power Bi, and the ability to programme automated data sets and reporting function would be advantageous but not essential. This role is open to finance professionals who are qualified by experience or studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
