Hays Technology and Loughborough University are working together to find a Senior Business Analyst for a permanent job. What the role is: The job is part of Student Systems, IT Services, and the LUSI (Loughborough University Student Information) Modernisation Programme. Loughborough builds and runs its own system for keeping track of information about students. This is a chance to help shape this one-of-a-kind system and work with other people to give students a great experience. Concerning your team: The Student Information Systems team is made up of 16 IT professionals who work closely with managers and professionals from all over the university to provide business analysis, software development, application support, testing, and systems management for a number of Student Information IT systems. The goal of the job is to meet the University's information systems needs by doing business analysis, solution design, system documentation, software development, and testing, usually as part of a team and according to agreed-upon standards and rules. Job Duties: ? Takes charge of gathering, analysing, putting together, and writing down specific and agreed-upon information for both big and small projects. Plan and run workshops with a variety of people, such as senior managers and the University's top leaders. Chooses and uses different business analysis techniques, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, document analysis, product analysis, requirements catalogue, process mapping, data modelling, and workflow analysis. Prepare analysis documentation that is clear and concise, using diagrams when necessary, and present proposals to the sponsors and stakeholders of the business process review. ? Lead the creation of high-quality and accurate user stories, prioritised requirements catalogues, quality requirements, acceptance criteria, and understanding and documenting the business requirements by working with business sponsors and project teams. ? Do a systems analysis to write down and understand the existing applications' data structure, data flow, functionality, and how they work together. Lead the conversation with the Enterprise Architecture team to make sure that the solutions are the best architectural fit. Works closely with a wide range of end users to ensure technical compatibility, proper testing, support training, user training, and user satisfaction. Engage with agile development teams that have experts in business analysis to make sure that decisions about priorities and which backlog items will be developed reflect the user and business perspective. You must have the following skills, knowledge, and experience to apply for the job: ? Experience as a Business Analyst in a complex environment or organisation. ? Experience with complex business systems and practises, as well as IT architecture, standards, and methods for information systems. Experience working with IT coworkers to come up with a good business process and technical solution to meet the needs that have been identified, as well as writing technical specifications for developers to follow. Have you ever worked on a project in an agile setting? Ability to give information in a professional way and in a way that makes sense for the audience. Recent technical skills and practical experience in business analysis and mission-critical applications ? Ability to talk and write clearly with both IT and non-IT staff. Ability to get along with people well enough to build long-term, positive relationships and solve problems, even when under pressure. Desirable criteria: Experience working in a college or university setting or a similar organisation.
