Your new role Reporting to the Head of Data Management, you will be working with the wider Data Management Team to design and roll out a data governance framework. The Data Governance Lead will be a pivotal role contributing to and implementing data governance activities to cross-functional business domains. You will be joining a team in the early stages of a large digital transformation focused on bringing improvements in data management practices to the firm. Main Duties and Responsibilities Lead and manage all firm wide data governance activities and be responsible for improving and maintaining the integrity of data assets Responsible for creating the data governance charters and RACI for the data owners, data custodians, the executive governance committee, and the working groups Facilitate the setup of working groups and be the central point of contact for task planning, encourage data stewards to raise issues for decision, and track decisions and action items. Assist in establishing processes for maintaining the Business Glossary and Metadata Repository Qualifications Degree level candidate ideally in information/data science, informatics, computer science, economics, or related study. Data Governance or Data Management professional certifications would be beneficial Any experience or awareness of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF / DAMA would be beneficial. Relevant Experience Required Extensive experience of data governance experience in a related industry Proven background in a management role, with change or transformation leadership experience. Demonstrate an understanding of data maturity assessment and appraisal Understand the concepts of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data integrity. Implementation experience of business glossaries, data dictionaries, DQ solutions, data catalogues, lineage, metadata management. An advocate for the implementation and continuous application of governance principles Key Skills Leadership skills to establish best practices and collaborative ways of working Ability to influence peers to modify behaviours and provide support for the adoption of related data governance policies and standards Exceptional presentation skills Effective consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement.
