Our client in central government is looking for a data scientist to help with the automation pipeline and dashboard development. The Delivery Unit collaborates closely with Ministers and the Secretary to provide accurate, timely data to improve delivery decisions and detect problems early. You will be required to establish data flows from various sources as well as create technological solutions such as APIs. Use Python and SQL scripting languages to structure and transform data, as well as to deploy Python extensions such as Pandas and NumPy and custom applications. Create innovative, clear, and engaging analysis communication products, such as interactive data visualisation tools in Plotly Dash for Python. Create working practises and repositories that allow for a repeatable pipeline process that can be reused for later data versions and iterations of the analytical tool. This will include advocating for and leading best practises for data valuation, storage, and re-use. Skills Required: Previously worked for the federal government Python and SQL coding skills are required. Understanding of Github and its application in the coding process Experience working with databases, structured and unstructured data, and large volumes of raw operational data Capability to work quickly while maintaining output quality In exchange, you will have the opportunity to assist a major government department that is undergoing a major transformation. The opportunity to work on a three-month contract paying up to £600 per day (in scope of IR35). There will be some travel to an office in London, Warrington, Bristol, or York (up to two days per month).
