Your new position The Data Engineer will work to improve the Microsoft Azure-based strategic data platform, from data collection from Dynamics 365 to the creation of dashboards to support key business decisions. Principal Responsibilities: You will report to the Director of Data Engineering. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of data and reporting solutions using cutting-edge Microsoft technologies: Services for SQL Server Integration Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI are examples of Azure services (both dashboards and paginated reports). Understand and document business requirements, evaluate options, research and propose suitable solutions in collaboration with other team members or directly with our business users. Transforming business requirements into design specifications by utilising your stakeholder management skills. Ensure that all work is performed in the environments, that source control is performed on a regular basis, and that deployment packages are robust and well-organized. Ensuring that all conflicts in this area are effectively merged/escalated, while also supporting the development and enhancement of our CI/CD pipelines. Assist in ensuring the highest quality of our processes and data by collaborating with system and business owners to ensure a proactive approach to data governance. Developing best practises for code management and deployment across cloud MI environments. Undertake/assist in the monitoring of BAU processes as directed, including root cause analysis, advising on remediation options, and delivering a solution, including any early lifecycle support as needed. Identifying new ways to provide business value, particularly with regard to Azure data intelligence capabilities. What you will require to succeed Required abilities and experience Delivery of a modern data platform in Microsoft Azure using relevant technologies and services. T-SQL expert, including stored procedures, temp tables, and CTEs with performance tuning. Proficient in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory development. Experience using GIT for CI/CD source control in Azure across key areas of the stack is required. Expertise in creating and deploying Azure Analysis Services Models. Expertise in creating cascading, parameterized reports with SQL Server Reporting Services. Reporting and dataset development in Microsoft Power BI.
