As a senior member of our client's Data Science Team, you will mentor and support your colleagues in order to deliver data and analytics strategy, so you will strike a balance between being hands-on with data and being a key contact and role model for your colleagues. Your new position This is an excellent opportunity to join The Data & Analytics Governance team and assist the Data & Analytics Governance Manager in carrying out team responsibilities. Through ownership and application of a robust Data & Analytics Governance framework, this is a key contributor to the success of the Society's Data Strategy. To maintain engagement with the value of Data & Analytics and the requirement for robust governance processes, the role necessitates a broad and strong network of colleagues at all levels across the business. Your new role will centre on establishing and enforcing an enterprise Data & Analytics governance framework for policies, standards, and practises in order to achieve the level of consistency and quality required to meet overall business needs. This also entails establishing a culture of best practises for data governance in accordance with the DAMA framework. Among the responsibilities are: Promoting the Data Catalogue and Data Quality Tool Proactively ensuring that the D&A Governance framework encompasses all environments, including cloud, BI, analytics, and other business areas (Mortgages, Investments and Savings) Consulting and coaching stakeholders to shape and deliver plans in accordance with best practises in Data Governance and Data Management, and forming a partnership, coordinating and monitoring the activities of Data Owners and Data Stewards. Identifying and dealing with regulatory, legal, and risk issues, such as data retention requirements Maintaining an effective, thoroughly tested Disaster Recovery Plan for the Department in order to ensure the company's continued ability to serve customers in the event of a major disruption in business processes. What you will require to succeed Experience with Data Catalogue tooling, such as Collibra, Alation, or similar technology, as well as on-premises and cloud technology, such as AWS and Azure, would be advantageous. Knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on the development lifecycle, particularly in a cloud environment, as well as experience contributing to DPIAs for new data feeds are required. The ability to persuade, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels Excellent understanding of the GDPR regulation in the United Kingdom, specifically around PII and its impact on the development lifecycle. Experience working with both technical and non-technical teams across a variety of business domains, as well as independently interpreting and communicating complex and/or sensitive information. Experience delivering change that improves business effectiveness in long-term ways, as well as working on programmes and projects with multiple workstreams.
