Hays is collaborating with a Birmingham-based organisation that is looking for a Data Protection Manager to join their team and support internal functions across the business in order to provide greater maturity, understanding, and alignment to data privacy principles. Working hybridly with one day per week in the Birmingham City Centre office. Your new position As subject matter expert, act as the organization's designated Data Protection Manager and be the point of contact for all data privacy issues. Establish and maintain the business's Data Privacy Strategy Minimum Standards, and deliver across all business functions. Give advice and direction to the Risk Register and the business's remediation plan. With a risk-based approach, conduct continuous evaluations against risk to business outputs and update as needed. To best support the business in each respective area, including UK GDPR and other data protection laws, promote a Data Protection culture throughout the business through training and awareness methodologies. This includes overseeing internal data protection activities, raising data protection awareness, training employees, and conducting internal audits. As needed, assist the Information Security Manager and Head of Security. What you will require to succeed Qualifications in Information Privacy Professional Europe CIPP/E or GDPR Practitioner. Extensive experience with Data Protection laws in an organisational setting, as well as an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation. Ability to apply data privacy expertise in specific situations and provide pragmatic solutions while maintaining high privacy and data protection standards is required.
